• How does RPM Canada establish Project Management fees?

We can offer a number of fee options: agreed hourly rates; maximum upset fee or as a percentage of the total project cost. Ultimately, our services help save you time, money, and effort. We have a clear and open process for proposed budgets, mid-project changes and schedule updates. We work hard to ensure there are no surprises. RPM will work with established services providers - yours or those procured through an RFP/RFQ process. You will be surprised by how much you will benefit by our knowledge of the process, our established relationships, and negotiating expertise.

  • How do you charge for your services?

We will meet with you and your team to make a thorough review of your requirements, personnel needs and establish typical timelines to complete each specified task and establish a fee accordingly. You'll know our fee before we begin.

  • Will RPM form a lasting relationship with my company?

Yes. We work hard to earn your trust and to exceed your expectations - professional with a personal touch. Its simple to us - we're in business to help you take care of yours. We know how important relationships and referrals can be and work hard to earn them.

  • Why would we hire RPM Canada?

Sometimes we all need a helping hand. Even if you have an internal facilities department, sometimes you need professional assistance or expertise to support you. Whether it's a one time furniture tidy up, a simple internal move or a major reorganization or re-build, we're here to help.

  • What sets RPM apart from "the competition"?

Most suppliers offer specific services that can lead to multi-sourcing for different pieces of work. Only a handful of Facility Consultant specialists offer the same comprehensive range of facilities-related services on a scale that RPM Canada does. What sets RPM Canada apart is our complete objectivity. Our external vantage-point enables us to deliver unbiased advice throughout the entire project process avoiding potential conflict of interest issues or gaps in delivery and services. Our business philosophy is to treat your project strategically and your bottom line as if it were our own.

  • Are you an extra layer of cost? How do you save us money?

We know time is money for our clientele and we pride ourselves in finding the most cost-effective solution. Our goal is that you will ultimately think of us as a cost-savings measure rather than an added layer of cost. While we will appear as a "line item" in your overall project budget, our fees are often covered through the hard and soft-cost savings we bring.

  • What if I already have an in-house facility manager/team?

Our team was developed with the intent of complementing and supporting existing resources not to replace or duplicate their efforts. RPM can step in at any level and handle the surplus workload, whether it involves a full portfolio of project management, relocation management or simple move-add-change requirements. Think of us when your in-house team is overloaded, juggling multiple priorities or is facing a large-scale project.

  • What if I already have a designer?

If you have been fortunate enough to establish a relationship with a good Designer/Space Planner that's great! There can be cost savings up front working with a group who may have history and design records at their disposal. RPM Canada can assist in the review your 'Design Agreement' to ensure that cost savings are being realized and provide the needed support to the 'design effort' while your designers concentrate on time sensitive completion of the drawings package, the timing of which is critical for the furtherance to all other project disciplines. RPM Canada's thorough understanding and detailed experiences of all project disciplines helps ensure you stay on schedule and within budget.

  • We've already started the project - is it too late to engage RPM Canada's services?

It is NEVER too late to call RPM! Although our value-add is maximized when we are brought in at the beginning of a project, our deep understanding of the entire process means we can still add value at every stage along the way.

  • My company thinks I can do this all myself - but I'm concerned about the scope.

Can you imagine what would happen if you tried to self-repair the foundation of your home to avoid paying for the services of a professional? Companies who try to manage large scale facilities initiatives on their own often end up spending significantly more time and re-work than expected on project issues. As a result, employees are often unable to concentrate on day-to-day revenue-generating responsibilities wasting valuable time and energy. In the end, it can be more costly to divert energies from core business functions than to hire an external team of professionals to manage the project process. Our goal is to be part of your team, so you will be as involved as you want to be - but let us sweat the details.
